Playing with water is a wonderful sensory activity for kids. And not only is apple bobbing a lot of fun, it also helps children improve their balance, coordination and control. Children should always be supervised for this activity.

Top tip!
Choose small apples at the shop as they are easier to catch with your teeth.
Equipment needed
- Large bowl, bucket or plastic box
- 10 apples (or more)
About the activity
Clean the large bowl or bucket with warm, soapy water and rinse. Then pour in cool, clean water until the bowl is three quarters full. Set it down on an outdoor table or on the ground, and plop several apples into the water. Now let the game begin! Get your child (or children) to stand or kneel behind the bowl with their hands held behind their back. The aim is to grab the apples and remove them from the bowl using only their mouth. If played as a competitive, group game, the person who grabs the most apples wins!
