About the activity
Help kids decide on the rules of your language, which can be as simple or complex as you like. For example, swap the letter “s” for the letter “e”, make words have the opposite meaning, or try combining languages by saying every third word in a different language. Try creating entirely new words and deciding on their meaning. For example, ‘Hola-who-lu-lu’ could mean, ‘Hello’!
Create five basic phrases and get kids to perfect them, before you come up with more. Don’t forget to give your language a name!
