About the activity
Choose a place outside which has many hiding opportunities in a close area – somewhere with a mixture of trees, bushes, paths and pots. Decide on the boundaries of the area to be explored.
If you are playing with a group, think of a fun way to choose who goes first. The chosen player then has two minutes to hide a piece of treasure from the bag. The other players must close their eyes and ears – no cheating!
The treasure hunters then check the bag to see what’s missing, and set out to find it! You can have a rule whereby the player who has hidden the treasure gives one, two or three clues.
The hunter who finds the treasure gets to hide the next item from the bag. Players carry on the game in the same pattern until the treasure bag is empty.
