Time for some team work! This group activity is all about building, balance and spatial skills.
Fun fact! The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy leans over at an angle of around 4 degrees! It leans because of the soft ground it’s built on.
About the activity
Start by placing a brick in the middle of the group.
Children take it in turns to add a brick to the one in the centre –– but they must only cover two studs each time.
How high can they get the model before it falls over? Discuss how it went, and the best ways of keeping balance. Now repeat the activity to see if they get better results! How does the tower change when you have to cover three or four studs?
