Playing cards
The aim of the game is to be the first player to collect all 52 cards.
The pack is first shuffled and dealt evenly between the two players. Each player should have their pile of cards face down in front of them.
To begin the game, both players turn over the top card in their pile at the same time. The player with the highest card (Aces are considered the highest) takes both cards and places them at the bottom of their pile – and the game continues as so.
If the cards turned over are of the same rank, both players shout “War!” and take their card off the deck. They then place two more cards from their pile in front of them – one face down, and the other face up. The player who now reveals the card with the highest rank takes all six cards, and places them at the bottom of their pile. If the cards are of the same rank once again, the same process is repeated with each player turning up two more cards from their pile – one face down and one face up. The player who reveals the highest rank will now take all ten cards.
The game continues until one player has claimed all 52 cards for their own. Let the battle begin!
