About the activity
Decide how many people are going to be singing the song, then decide on a theme. If you’re stuck for inspiration, try picking one from the list below:
- A rap about the mode of transport you’re taking.
- A love song dedicated to your favourite food.
- A funny song about family/friends/pets.
- A catchy song about getting dressed/brushing your teeth/going to bed.
If you’re short on time, then simply focus on writing the chorus – which should be short and catchy. If you want to write a complete song, aim to write three verses, each followed by the chorus. If your memory is good, make it longer!
Once you’ve mastered your song, consider how you might perform it. Do you have any special dance moves that you can show off? The great thing about this activity is that it can be scaled up or down, depending on whether you’re dealing with a solo act or band!
