Ask the children to sit in a circle. Then, pretend to pick up an object and hold it for a while in your hands (to demonstrate what the object might be and how to play the game). You can choose anything – a tennis ball, a teapot, a pineapple, a hairbrush, a cat….
Tell the children what your imaginary object is before passing it to the first player. They should then hold the object accordingly for 20 seconds or so, before handing it to the person next to them.
Get each player to give the object a new description, such as ‘it’s really heavy’, ‘it’s hot’ or ‘it’s spiky’. As they passed it on, the next player must then act out that description.
