Playing cards
The kids should all be seated close to each other in a circle, at a table or on the floor. For each player, take four of a kind out of a deck of cards and shuffle them together. Then deal four cards to each player.
The aim of the game is to collect four of a kind – and then put your finger on your nose!
Before the mad-cap fun begins, get the kids to look at their cards and arrange them as they wish. Which four of a kind will they try to collect? To start the game, each player places a card they don’t wish to keep face down on the table/floor and slides it to the player to their left. Each player then immediately picks up the card passed to them, before putting another card down.
The kids can continue to pass the cards as quickly as possible – this is sure to create a with lots of giggles! Alternatively, you can establish a rhythm by calling, “Down – Pass – Up – Look – Down – Pass – Up – Look”.
Once a player has managed to collect four of a kind, they quickly and quietly put a finger on their nose. The other players must do the same as soon as they notice. The last player to do so is the “pig” and must sit out whilst the others play another round.
The game ends when there are only two players remaining – they are the joint winners!
