Blind-taste testing not only encourages children to try new foods, it provides sensory play for younger children as they feel wriggly spaghetti, dip their fingers in yoghurt or feel squishy fruit in their hands.
Prepare a range of foods for each child to try. You may need to cut food into bite-sized pieces, or place/pour it into a bowl. Include a wide variety of fruit and vegetables as well as things like cooked pasta, cheese, ice-cream, nuts – the more tastes and textures the better! Just that you take into account any food allergies before preparing food for the game.
Watch the children’s reactions as they taste each food and see how many they can guess correctly!
