Cat and Mouse is an exciting game, perfect for large groups of kids. Players will have leaps of fun and lots of laughs as they put their speed and agility to the test!
Top tip!
For an added twist, introduce a rule that the cat must follow the mouse's path during the chase!About the activity
Choose one player to be the ‘cat’ and one player to be the ‘mouse’. All the other children form a circle, holding hands. The game begins with the mouse standing inside the circle, and the cat outside. Then let the chase begin!
The aim of the game is simple – the cat tries to catch the mouse, and the mouse tries to avoid being caught. As both players race in, out and around the circle, the other players help the mouse (or the cat, if they so choose) by raising their arms to let them pass through. Neither the cat nor the mouse can pass between players whose arms are lowered.
The game continues for a set time limit (two or three minutes, for example) or until the cat catches the mouse. For the next round, choose two new players to be the cat and mouse…and once again, the chase is on!
