Sit the players in a circle – the more players the better!
One player comes up with a phrase, which they whisper to the person to their right. They may also wish to write the phrase down on a piece of paper, to be revealed at the end. The phrase can be anything at all – but the longer the phrase, the more difficult the game!
The phrase is passed around the entire circle, with players listening to the person on their left and whispering to the person on their right. To really challenge the players, make it so that they can whisper the phrase just once!
The final player in the circle announces the phrase they’ve heard out loud. Is it the same phrase that the first player created or has it changed…?
Kids are likely to enjoy lots of laughs and giggles as they discover how easily messages can get distorted when passed from person to person. It’s also a great way to teach them the importance of listening and speaking clearly.
